Pallet Town:
When you start the game walk out of your house and go up to the grass he will stop you and take you to his lab. He will let you have one of three pokemon, their names are: Bulbasuar: A grass/poison pokemon... Charmander: A fire pokemon... And Squirtle: A water type pokemon... I would choose a Squirtle it will help you alot in the Pewter city gym againstBrock, he trains rock pokemon and rock have a huge weakness to water.(NOTE) Gary will always pick the pokemon stronger that you. After you pick your pokemon Gary will chalenge you to apokemon dewl, with your first and new pokemon. After you win setout to the north of the town.
Route 2:
Wild pokemon live in the tall grass. Sinceyou cant buy poke' balls till you get to Viridian city you can'tcatch any wild pokemon you come accross, but if you battle you newpokemon with them you could get some good experiance.
Viridian City:
When you get to Viridian city go tothe poke' mart, the person at the checkout counter will give you aparcel. Take it to Pro. Oak and in return he'll give you a poke'dex. A poke' dex is a hand help encyclopdia nthat keeps track of thepokemon that you've seen and the ones you have caught. Go back to Viridian and go into the poke' mart again. This time you canbuy stuff. Buy about 10 or 15 poke' balls and five antidotes. Whenyou get done in there go back to route 2 and catch both Rattataand Pidgey. (NOTE) Make sure you train you pokemon evenly. Forexample have all you pokemon at level eight then get themall to level nine, so that one pokemon isnt at level 20 whileanother is at 10. Head back to Pewter city, when you get there headnorth to Viridian Forest...
Viridian Forest:
The pokemon you'll find here are:Pikachu: A Electic type pokemon, a must have. Caterpie: A bugtype pokemon. Weedle a Bug/Poison pokemon. Metapod: Aevolved Caterpie. Kakuna: An evolved weedle. (NOTE) Both Metapod and Kakuna are in the Cacoon stage of Caterpie and Weedle. After you find your way out through the maze like forest you'll come to Pewter City...
Pewter City:
Once you've reached Pewter city godirectly to the poke' center. After your pokemon are recharged go tothe Pewter city gym and defeat Brock. In battle use you Sqirtle if you got one at the begining. With Sqirtle you'll be able todefeat Brocks pokemon no problem. After you defeat Brock claim theBoulder badge and a TM that will teach the Bide ability, usethe TM on Pikachu. The badge lets you use flash at any timeand also gives all of your pokemon a little boost in defense.(NOTE) Unlike in the TV show Brock and Misty dont follow you in youjouney. Once outside of the gym head east to a bunch ofother pokemon trainers. Keep going and you'll be in Route 3...
Route 3:
The new pokemon you'll find here are:Spearow a normal/flying pokemon. And Jigglepuff a normalpokemon. At the end of route 3 youll find a poke' center, enterand recharge your pokemon. Then head to mount moon.
